please accept my apologies for mailing a second time today, but I wanted to let you know about this on asap, as I’m about to head out the door for some B’day beers with friends… 🙂
if you don’t use skype, this won’t effect you, so skip ahead… 😉
#1 ~ earlier today I had a strange message pop up in skype from a friend, it read: –
hi how are you, i send to you link please sign ok [link removed]
obviously I’ve removed the link, but it was a uni.cc url.
fortunately I didn’t click on the link, mostly because it looked quite odd, with bad grammar, so I sent the friend who’s account it was a message on facebook to ask him to check if his skype account had been hacked, and it turns out it had…
since then it seems this has been spreading as other people click on it without thinking and end up with their accounts hacked.
as internet marketers we all tend to use Skype a lot, I’ve got over 200 contacts on my list, but it doesn’t mean we should automatically trust any link that pops up, just in case.
If you have had your account hacked, do a password reset as quickly as you can and get in touch with Skype’s support to let them know as well, they will probably be able to help.
#2 ~ I’ve also had a bit of a birthday present today already, as my Facebook fanpage just hit 100 fans! 🙂
