Well I managed to sneak away for my traditional few days camping with my kids and parents this weekend and, apart from the night we arrived, the weather was perfect, real hot sunny summer weather, at long last…
Here’s a couple of photos of Rhosilli beach to prove it, the quality’s not that good as they were taken on my mobile phone and I had it on the wrong quality setting… (doh!)

as you can see, it wasn’t exactly busy either…

The only downside was that as I’ve not been out in the sun much this year, I went and got myself nice and burnt!
so I ended up spending two days hiding under a towel like a real plonker…
Now I’m back at home in Chelts and the water is back on, but we’re not allowed to drink it or clean our teeth with it, even if it’s boiled…
Of course I neglected to read the notice about this until after I’d made myself some instant gravy with it to go with my dinner, so I’ve spent the last 36+ hours waiting to see if I come down with some kind of stomach bug, so far it seems I may have escaped.
I suspect my “home remedy” of drinking quite a lot of vodka and coke to kill off any bugs in my system was probably responsible, although it did have some downsides of it’s own…

Rhosilli beach can be really beautiful, though the stairs down the cliff face can be dodgy in places, if you’ve had too much to drink. We went there for our anniversary one year, and a guy was making huge geometric patterns in the sand, very impressive from the cliff top.
