This weekend should be the 5th annual Hay-on-Wye Festival of the literature and arts “piss-up” weekend for me, Jumbo, Col, Tat and Hugh, but we’re not gonna be there.

It’s a shame but life moves on, we’re all off doing other things and somehow it’s just not where we’re at this year, maybe we’ll come back to it next year or some time in the future, but for now, the tradition we started back in 2003 has faltered.

I know that the friends I have shared this “qaulity” (drunken & relaxed) time with for the last few years are still great friends and we’ll do it again, but I also know that we don’t HAVE to do the weekend just because it was becoming a bit of a tradition.

habits can be fun, but they don’t have to dictate our lives.

What am I going to be doing instead?

I’m heading off on a family holiday to spain in just over a week, so I need to get a bunch of stuff done before I go to make sure the cash continues to roll in while I’m away.

I’ve not quite managed to reach my goal of a totally “hands free” business model yet, so some work is required in prep for a week off, but once it’s done I know I’ll be able to totally relax while I’m away and really enjoy spending some quality time teaching my kids to snorkle, and not need to be sparking up my laptop every night…

I’m looking forward to not just spending some sunshine time with my kids, bbut also with my parents, big sis, cousins and their kids, and even an aunt an uncle, it’s the biggest “family” holiday we’ve ever done, could be “interesting”….

but I’m really happy that I have a busines that allows me to set up some stuff before hand and I can relax knowing that there will be money coming in while I’m off taking in the sunshine.

Now all I need to do is get the business set up so I can take a week off every month….
