« Hungry Squirrels Ever been stung with a late payment fee? »
If you’ve been here before, you’ve seen how well my Cacti are doing, but I thought I should probably reveal why that was such a surprise for me..
I’m not particularly “green fingered”, I manage to do a bit of gardening now and then, mostly when it REALLY needs it, I even cheat by getting my kids to mow the lawn for me, and when it comes to indoor plants, I’m just not good.
Don’t get me wrong, I like house plants, especially Bonsai Trees, it’s just that they don’t seem to like me.
I’ve even made the effort to read a couple of books about looking after Bondai Trees, but to no avail.
Let me show you what I mean.
This first photo is of a Bonsai that I bought about a year ago and I just haven;t had the heart to throw it out, even though it’s been in it’s current, somewhat “inert” state since about a month after I got it.

I was hoping it was just hibernating, but I guess that’s just wishful thinking..
My dear sister for some reason has decided that even though I had a bad rack record with Bonsai, she would get me a new Bonsai for Xmas this year. Perhaps she just thought the first one dying was a one off?
hmm, nope, doesn’t look like it..

This poor plant is looking on it’s way out and it’s only been in the house for 4 days!
and yes, I have watered it, sprayed it’s leaves and fed it.
I suspect it may be because I put it on a windowsill near the old bonsai and it’s seen the future and just given up it’s will to live.
Fortunatly my sister also got me a Cactus which is doing admirably, even though it looks quite “phalic”.
I think I’m just going to have to stick to Cacti from now on!

Good luck with the cactus, hope it survives a little longer
It was really good to see you both again pre-Xmas, just wish we had been over for longer…
